life in the fast plane
i played dallas, atlanta, and miami this weekend. 3 nights in a row. i managed to get a couple runs in as well, one in dallas, and one in miami. i like running new routes in cities, it helps you get a grasp of a town you might not explore in other ways.
there’s still something special about hopping on a plane in the morning and ending up somewhere new later that day. the magic is not lost on me after all these years of doing it. new climate, new people, new food, new culture. you don’t have to go far. i realize travelling is a luxury that many can not afford, but i tend to think a lot of the world’s hate would be minimized if they just went new places and met new people. maybe i’m an optimist in that sense. if i’m being naive i’m okay with that, because i believe it.
i also road-tested a couple new songs. i like having back-to-back-to-back shows like this because i can play the song one night, make changes the next day, then try it again the following night. rinse and repeat. it all feels very alive and in the moment, a weird piece of clay that i’m shaping based on my reaction and the audience’s.

ps: if you came to any of the pop ups, pioneer asked me to make a video telling that story. watch it here.
